Teacher On & Off Duty

On Duty Outfit:

What I Wore:
Shoes: Target - $15
Skirt: Target - $24
Shirt: Target - $20
Cardigan: Target - $6
Earrings: Altar'd State - $20

1. I'm a big fan of Target. But we all knew that.
2. I am majorly prone to wrinkles. And I don't know why! All this standing, sitting, bending over, moving, etc, takes a major toll on my clothing. So, please imagine that the skirt is nice and straight. You know, no wrinkles.
Here, I'll help:

It's too bad sarcasm doesn't translate well via blog.

Off Duty Outfit:

What I Wore:
Booties: Target - $12
Jeans: Target - $15
Shirt: the GAP - $10
Blazer: Target - $7
Earrings: Forever21 - $3
Scarf: Target - $4ish?

I told you yesterday that I would try this outfit--so here it is!
Everyone always makes a big deal about off duty models, so it's interesting to consider a dual-view into what I wear on and off the job. While my teacher clothes have slowly infiltrated my street clothes, I still manage to put a different twist on my clothes on the weekend. Take that scheming teacher clothes!
I'm serious. There's a conspiracy in my closet.

You look adorable in both outfits! Even as I student teach I realize that my teacher clothes are starting to be added to my regular outfits!

You can carry both the looks so well. But personally, I relate more to the off-duty dress. So, I think of the two, I would give you more marks on that one any day. but the red of the skirt is pretty.

Haha you do it so well though! I swear my weekend outfits are almost always jeans and a Tshirt. I'm ready for some sunny weather though---bring out those shorts and Ts. I'm slightly jealous of all these beautiful skirt on the patio shots you're able to have---makes me miss the south slightly!

I love seeing your non-teachery outfits. I'm so used to dressing up for school that when it comes to downtime, I never know what to wear (and thus end up looking kind of schlubby in jeans and a hoodie with Converses).
If you ever get the time, would you consider an "off-duty" tag for your blog for outfits that aren't for school? It'd be a nice resource for the fashionably clueless :)

That's such a good idea! I will definitely add that! :)

Thanks, Laura! (I'll reply again when I have it fixed)

Okay, I started the label--I think it goes all the way back into September now. I'll go through and see about the rest of them--but I'll be sure to start adding to the "Off Duty" and "On Duty" from now on! Thanks for the idea!

For all its downsides, the south certainly makes up for it when it comes to warming up quickly! :) I don't think we have had a daily temperature below 55 degrees since December...

I do like the red skirt! I can't wait to wear it on an off day, too!

Whitney said...

Thanks, Chloe! Just wait...you will be amazed how quickly you have to fight yourself not to wear your teacher clothes! ha!

oh man, is that a cardigan in the same print as that great target skirt of yours that i love so much?  how did i totally miss out on both?!

Whitney said...

Yes! You are so right--I actually didn't notice they were the same pattern until the other day...the cardigan is definitely more of a chocolate brown, while the skirt is more olive. Too funny!

I love the skirt/top/sweater combo!

Thanks, Emily! I loved the colors of the top and skirt--but I wasn't sure what to add in terms of a cardigan. When I came across it in my closet search, I just knew!
